Project Description
This project includes reconstruction of water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer in nine (9) streets in the Northwest Old Town area of Lewisville. All proposed improvements are planned to take place within the existing right-of-way (ROW).
The limits of the street improvements are below.
Degan Avenue: Main St. to College St.
Richland Street: IH-35 to Cowan Ave.
Temple Drive: Degan Ave. to Lynn Ave.
Lynn Avenue: Main St. to College St.
Edna Avenue: Main St. to College St.
Cowan Avenue (Sanitary Only): Walters St. to College St.
Walters Street: Cowan Ave. to Charles St.
Hatcher Street: Main St. to College St.
Herod Street: Church St. to College St.
The upgrades will include the following.
- Replace and upgrade the water mains and sanitary sewer lines and appurtenances.
- Improve 18 corner ramps to meet ADA compliant curb ramps.
- Analyze the existing storm sewer system for the 25-yr. storm and upgrade existing culverts and roadside swales.
- The existing street pavement will be repaired with the pavement section that
currently exists.
Project Timeline
The project is currently under design. It is anticipated to receive the plans during Summer 2024 for staff review.
Additional Information
Huitt-Zollars is the Engineering Consultant to design this project.
The City will follow up once the project is complete with a full mill and overlay of the asphalt streets.
