Water and Wastewater Relocation
Project Description:
The scope of work for the project includes abandoning or removing and replacing existing water and wastewater lines along the I-35E Frontage roads and under I-35E in preparation for TxDOT's expansion of the roadway. A portion of this work will also include water and wastewater lines along the 1171 crossing (Main Street) and Business 121 near Texas Street.
Project Cost and Funding Sources:
- The project will be initially funded through the City's utility capital projects fund and is reimbursable through TxDOT funding.
- Phase One was awarded to SAI Construction in June 2022 for $3.2 million.
- Phase Two was awarded to Canary Construction Inc., in July 2023 for $9.6 million. Construction will start August 2023.
Estimated Completion:
- Phase One completed July 2023.
- Phase Two, Corporate Blvd. to Huffines Blvd., is projected to be completed September 2024. A map of the area is below.
