What is the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit?

The Stormwater Utility Fee Credit program was designed to allow eligible properties within the City of Lewisville to reduce their Stormwater Utility Fee.  Credits of up to 50 percent can be obtained by implementing approved best management practices (BMPs) that are intended to reduce the impacts of stormwater runoff quantity and quality from the property.   The owner (or agent) of eligible properties must apply for the credit and comply with applicable inspection, maintenance, and reporting requirements. To learn more about the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit see the Administrative Directive.

Who is eligible for a Fee Credit?

Non-single family residential properties are eligible to obtain credits under the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit program.  Single-family residential and non-single family residential properties, which are located within the boundaries of the Denton County #1 Levee Improvement District, will receive an automatic 25% reduction of the fee for the property.  To learn more about the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit see the Administrative Directive.

How do I apply for the Fee Credit?

In order to receive a credit toward the Stormwater Utility Fee, owners (or agents) of eligible properties must complete an Application for Stormwater Utility Fee Credit.  The Administrative Directive provides detailed information about the credit program, including a listing of approved BMPs, the amount of potential credit per BMP, additional documentation requirements, and the annual reporting and renewal process.

Submit the completed application, along with any additional documentation listed in the Administrative Directive, to the mailing address or email listed on the application.  Once the City has received all applicable documentation, the application will be reviewed within 60 days.  Certain BMPs may require an inspection by City personnel, prior to approval.  If the credit application is approved, a letter will be sent to the applicant with notification of acceptance, and the fee reduction will be applied to the next regular billing cycle.   If the application is denied, a letter will be sent to the applicant with an explanation for the denial, and information regarding the appeals process.  Credits are valid for one year and must be renewed annually.
