Inventory Map

Welcome to the City of Lewisville's Lead Service Line Inventory Map! As part of our commitment to residents' safety and in compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, we provide this tool to help you easily access information about the materials used in the service lines connecting your home to the water supply.

Why This Matters

Lead service lines can pose serious health risks, particularly for children and pregnant women. Our inventory promotes transparency and empowers residents to understand the materials in their water service lines (both public and private side), reinforcing our dedication to community well-being.

Please note that this inventory, as shown in the graphic above, is for the service line from the water main to the meter (public side) and from the meter to the point of entry to the house (private side). This inventory does not show if the materials of the home's interior plumbing have lead or not.

How to Use the Inventory

  1. Search for Your Address: Enter your home address in the search bar by clicking the magnifying glass in the bottom right corner of the map to find specific information about your service line.
  2. View Service Line Material: The map will display the materials used on both the public and private sides of your service line, indicating whether it contains lead, galvanized requiring replacement, is non-lead, or is currently unknown.
  3. Use this link for a more detailed guide for using the Inventory Map.

What If My Service Line Says "Unknown"?

The vast majority of the city's public and private service lines are non-lead. There are a few unknown material service lines remaining that we are actively working to discover the material. If you are among those with an unknown material, the EPA requires us to treat the unknowns as "possible lead". This means that you will receive a letter in the mail from us in 30 days about steps to take to discover your material type and protect yourself and your family from lead.

Because your service line material is unknown, there is the potential that some or all of the service line could be made of lead or galvanized pipe that was previously connected to lead. People living in homes with a lead or galvanized pipe previously connected to a lead service line have an increased risk of exposure to lead from their drinking water.

Exposure to lead in drinking water can cause serious health effects in all age groups. Infants and children can have decreases in IQ and attention span. Lead exposure can lead to new learning and behavior problems or worsen existing learning and behavior problems. The children of women who are exposed to lead before or during pregnancy can have increased risk of these negative health effects. Adults can have increased risks of heart disease, high blood pressure, and kidney, or nervous system problems.
