Community is a loaded term. One that speaks in generalities, but the underlying meaning is one that gives definition to many crucial aspects of everyday life. It’s multilayered and built upon the histories and works of all those who have come before. Community lifts us up. Each generation contributes to a tapestry of interwoven lives that fits into a place we all call home. This is visualized in this piece, We Are Lewisville.

These portraits were taken of people within the community, and make up the demographic diversity of the city in which we live. The portraits are layered upon other layers, symbolizing the foundations of our actions that are built upon the actions of others before us.

The piece is created in three panels, each symbolizing the three tenets of The Lewisville Way: Value People, Build Our Future, Serve Every Day. These panels all come together to create a singular piece, one we can all be proud of.
