Wayne Ferguson

Artist: David Iles, Bolivar Bronze

Installed: October 2019

Location: 150 West Church Street, northwest corner of Wayne Ferguson Plaza along the boardwalk

This cast bronze sculpture is a larger than life depiction of Wayne Ferguson, former Lewisville mayor, rancher, and developer. He is depicted surrounded by elements of his life, interests, and accomplishments. He is seated on a stonewall under the canopy of redbud trees, with three rolls of maps to one side, and a saddle blanket, chaps, spurs, and a prized hunting knife on the other side. He sits at the entry to Wayne Ferguson Plaza holding a map of the plaza, and greets the visitors as they enter the boardwalk. He is also fitted with personal items from his life, his favorite rings, his Leatherman, his favorite belt buckle, and his signature hat and hatband.

This work of art was funded by Alex and Mary Beth Buck, Lieven and Cecilia Van Riet, Mack and Beverly Rogers, and the City of Lewisville.
