Tie Bench

The Tie Bench is a functional sculpture, and has been noted as a breakthrough artwork for the artists. Although May+Watkins have created many beautiful benches, this was the first time that the sculptural element came first, and the seating was almost incidental. The subject matter, ties and rails, which are relevant to the history of Lewisville, were twisted and shaped to create a dramatic artwork that marks Lewisville as the diverse and forward-looking community that it is.

The Tie Bench is made of stainless steel pipe, stainless perforated steel and aluminum. The surface has a powder coated finish.
