The Heartbeat of LLELA

Artists: Kendra L. Brown and Juan Ramos

Installed: Spring 2022

Location: LLELA Staff Office, Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area, 201 E Jones Street

Two UNT CVAD students, Kendra L. Brown and Juan Ramos, were selected to paint a mural that spans across three exterior walls of the Lewisville Staff Office. The artists collaborated on the design and will work together to execute the murals, which use vibrant colors to depict naturalistic scenes of everyday activities at LLELA. The paintings depicted will highlight the flora and fauna located at LLELA and promote the various activities visitors can engage in – camping, fishing, bird watching, and more. The murals will also highlight the important roles the staff play in maintaining the nature reserve and helping the Lewisville community.
