Open Mic Night celebrates my three great loves: Music, Coffee, and Line Art Illustration. The 4th in a series of panoramic concert scenes, Open Mic Night lowers the temperature from raucous arena rock to the calmer sights, scents, and sounds of an intimate community coffee shop... replete with acoustic guitars, quiet conversation, and the hiss of pulled espresso shots and steamed milk. A cool color palette complements the warmth of the room (and beverages), allowing the viewer to relax and settle into the scene... like sitting in a well-worn chair, wearing a hand-knitted sweater.
