Butterflies are a symbol of freedom as well as transformation. The intention of this painted crosswalk is as a reminder for those who encounter it to tap into their intuition and childlike nature. Much in the same way a butterfly will flutter and soar in the wind, we too can listen to the nudges and inner voice that guides us. I hope the butterfly reminds the community of the lightness that comes when we follow our inner guidance. The butterfly also evokes whimsy and reminds us that our inner-child is always there to add a playful touch to our day.
