Earth & Beyond

Location: Northwest corner of Main and Charles Street, at Lewisville Grand Theater

Earth and Beyond is a contemporary, metal, kinetic sculpture that features stone and glass mosaic panels on the base. This sculpture depicts a 19-ft purple flower with moving leaves and represents the agricultural history, natural beauty and future innovation of Lewisville.

The mosaic panels, depicting abstract flowers and fauna, were completed by community members of the Visual Art League and during ColorPalooza 2018 festival.

The work was created in partnership with local artist Daren Fagen, Visual Art League of Lewisville and Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance (GLAA). GLAA managed several community fundraisers to raise funds for this project and donated the work to the City. This donated project was Lewisville’s first permanent work of Public Art and is regarded as a catalyst project for the program. It was donated to the City in honor of Jim Wear, first Arts Center Manager at the Lewisville Grand Theater from 2010-2016.
