Lewisville Animal Shelter “Pet of the Week” – Phinney

In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur-ever homes, the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet, available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge.

This week’s featured pet is Phinney, a 6-year-old male American Pit Bull mix. This playful boy really loves his squeaky toys and knows a few commands. He is moderately active, so he enjoys a good treat every now and again. It takes him a little while to warm up to other dogs his size, but once he does, he’s good to play and have fun. He is vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, had flea treatment applied, and sterilized.

Anyone interested in Phinney can submit an application through the “Adoptable Pets” page at cityoflewisville.com. Just click on his picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application. Once the application has been submitted, Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day. While on the phone and if approved, staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for a visit. Applications will be responded to in the order they are received.

ADOPTION FEES WAIVED FOR ALL DOGS OVER 20 POUNDS THROUGH JANUARY 3, 2025

The Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees through Saturday, Jan. 3, 2025, for all dogs over 20 pounds. The regular adoption fee is $90.
