Join the Visual Art League of Lewisville for its monthly general meeting, open to both VAL members and guests, at the Lewisville Grand Theater. This first meeting of the New Year is designed to reinvigorate your creativity, jumpstart your motivation and encourage you to learn from fellow members. 

What to expect at the January 2024 VAL Member Meeting:

Hints, Tips, Hacks and/or Questions

• Share and discuss favorite hints, tips and hacks related to creating art.Members come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.This is an opportunity to learn from each other and ask questions!

Art & Play

• Relax, unwind, enjoy snacks and converse with other artists as you color, paint and embellish a “puzzle piece.”Each person’s artwork will be pieced together to reveal a complete puzzle at the end of the meeting.

Artist of the Month

• All VAL members are encouraged to bring one artwork for the January Artist of the Month.All attendees will vote on their favorite artwork.First and second place winners will receive prizes!

   

• All attendees are encouraged to come prepared with a hint, tip, hack and/or question related to art.
  
  Ideas:  Favorite brand of paint, best source for supplies, hacks for organizing art supplies in a small space, favorite adhesives, tips for painting the perfect clouds, best place for nature photography, favorite location for plein air painting, favorite museums and art galleries, etc.
   
  New members are encouraged to ask questions related to exhibits, understanding strike and intake, preparing materials for hanging art, etc. 

To reach The Grand from I-35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall.
